Finding a house in Brooklyn that still had original details in a Brownstone took a lot of work most houses that were affordable had long been flipped to generic home depot tile and white formica counters.

After looking through hundreds of listings we finally found a house with all the Victorian trimmings still intact, just ripe for restoration and less than 3 mins walk from the house we’d been renting in the neighbourhood we loved.

The former owner had raised her family in the house since the 1950s and the house had that loved but very lived in look with some… delightful 1970s additions.

A shout out to the delightful Sylvia from Corcoran Real Estate for helping us through the process and a strong warning against the Mortgage Agency SoFi who gave me the worst customer experience of my life and sold our account to another bank 6 weeks after closing.
